Flamenco Couple Aa by Sylva Zalmanson Two flamenco dancers

"The Flamenco Dance subject in Zalmanson's paintings, has been associated with her youth occupation, in artistic gymnastics and the gypsy flamenco dance. Through the canvas, Zalmanson strives to "express emotion, freedom of expression and the passion of dance that blend with leggings and vocals." The connection to Flamenco intensified in 2002 when she went on a trip to Barcelona and watched the mesmerizing flamenco performance, a dance of strong and turbulent women. From that moment, she felt that she had been occupied by the dance and since then she has also begun to paint flamenco in all her senses: a powerful, colorful, colorful and passionate flamenco. Naturally, the red color is the color that dominates some of the works: the sensual red, the feminine, the color of erupting sexuality, the thirst, and the desire for a free woman's life. The ultimate female image that emerges is of course Carmen, the ferocious and rebellious Gypsy, the main character in the looting "Carmen" opera. Zalmanson captures the movement and magic and captivates the viewer in the flamenco dance: the gowns, with the generous cleavage, the slides, the rotational, the expressive movement, creates the magic, the colors vibrant and the mixed media creates three-dimensional."                Udi Rosnoyn, Curator
